What you'll fly
We are a Piper school, using Piper Warriors and the Piper Arrow for Commercial/Complex training.
- The Warrior II is a four-place, low wing, single engine airplane equipped with fixed tricycle landing gear, having a steerable nose wheel and two main wheels. The engine is a Lycoming Model O-320-D2A and is rated at 160 horsepower at 2700 RPM. It is a four-cylinder, normally aspirated, direct drive, air-cooled, horizontally opposed, carburetor equipped engine. The service ceiling is 14,000 ft, and the cruising speed is about 105-knots.
- The Arrow is a good choice for pilots with little complex aircraft experience, it was designed to be an easy step up for pilots transitioning from a trainer to a single with retractable landing gear and controllable-pitch propeller. With over a 35' wingspan, the 200 hp Lycoming IO-360-C1C6 engine gets a pilot a service ceiling of 16,200 ft, and the cruising speed is about 137-knot at 75-percent power.
